Shipping promise
South Africa post office collapsed and our basic shipping offering is sending our parcels to London first, and then it is shipped to the rest of the world. It takes the same time, costs the same, but tracking is not available due to bulk shipping from South Africa to London. But we guarantee that you will get the parcel.
Products
Our products are reproduced using molds made from the original part. We do our best to make the part look as original as possible, but at the same time we try to make the parts as strong as we can, often beefing up sections that don’t detract from the original look.
Production
We mold products from Sika polyurethane resins and from PM-790 Shore 90A industrial urethane rubber compounds. The molds are taken from the best possible original part, so that we have the least amount of defects on the cast products. These molds deteriorate with time and use and need to be remade from time to time. We make to order, so parts ordered will take 3 or 4 days before they are ready for shipment.
Reproduction
We are always open to new ideas on products, if you have a part you cannot find and want it reproduced, let us know. We will check the market and if there is a need, and we can do justice to a solid reproduction, we will add it to our list of products. Shipping explained in more detail
South Africa postal service has been through a rough patch and recently have slipped so far with poor performance that letters were taking 3 months to get from one side of South Africa to the other. So we found another solution. We ship once a week via RemailIT who bulk courier all mail to London via air, where it is then shipped via Royal Mail and other services to the rest of the world. It is slightly faster (expected shipping is 4 to 5 weeks) with shipping, but it cannot provide us or you with tracking, due to the bulk shipping out of South Africa. As we have no other basic shipping out of South Africa, we guarantee the parcels will arrive with the buyers. You can ask for faster more expensive courier services like FedEx, but the price is almost three times the price, but obviously much faster. We continue to monitor other avenues and will change when we find better solutions.
Who we are…
Small family business based in Durban South Africa. Malcolm races in the local and sometimes national VMX and Vinduro events. The products of Max Bike Products started when we needed parts to complete our VMX projects, and as the demand grew, so did our small business. Now we ship all across the world to many people like ourselves who are keeping these “old bikes” alive. We have been doing this for the last 6 years, during which we have refined the products, our processes and also our business.
